A Friend of Mine

About three months ago, a news came into my attention. That news was about an accident that claimed four lives, and left dozens wounded. A bus crashed into 100 meter deep gorge.

What is so special about that news? A friend of mine was on that bus. She was on the way to do rafting. She was anticipating the wildest ride of her life. But surely she wasn't anticipated, that the wildest ride was on a bus, into a 100 meter deep gorge.

Thanks God, the accident didn't claimed her life. But it did claimed some of her sight.... Her right eye was blinded permanently.

Her boyfriend was on that bus. The accident also didn't claimed his life. But it took much of his mobility. He was paralized from the waist down. He is on a wheel chair now...

The accident was three months ago. But I only get the news that she is one of the crash survivor about two months ago.
I was calling her to asked her how's life, and she answered: "life's fine, btw I've just got out of the hospital".
"Why did you hospitalized", I asked.
"Uhm.... my bus crashed", she answered.
"What!", I'm sure that I was screaming at the top of my lungs.
"Yes, my bus crashed, didn't you read the news?"
The conversation left me speechless....

After a month, last Saturday, she called me. She asked me to accompany her to Roxy, she was going to sell one of her cellphone. I said yes, and agree to meet her at Roxy Mas.

We had lunch, and after selling her cellphone, I accompany her to visit her boyfriend. He surely look different from the guy I remembered, but after a talk, I found out that he is still the guy I knew.

We talked about his plans, and I'm glad that
the fact that he is on a wheel chair seemed doesn't detered his determination.

It is his girl friend I'm worry about....
She seemed still can not accept what happened on that day....
